Abstract

This study aimed to identify the reality of using modern technologies in teaching physics in secondary schools in Marib City from the perspectives of supervisors and teachers. To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive approach was employed due to its suitability for the nature of the research, The study instrument was a questionnaire consisting of two main domains: the first domain was electronic devices, which included 10 items, and the second domain was electronic applications, which included 14 items, making a total of 24 items. The study sample was identical to the study population and included 54 participants, comprising 14 male and female physics supervisors and 40 male and female physics teachers. The results revealed that the overall level of using modern technologies was moderate. The most frequently used electronic device was the mobile phone, while social media tools were the most commonly used electronic applications, The differences were not statistically significant for most devices and applications, except for the use of mobile phones, which was in favor of teachers, and the use of laboratory devices, which was in favor of private schools. In general, differences in the use of modern technologies were in favor of teachers with higher academic qualifications and greater teaching experience. Accordingly, the study recommends providing the necessary modern technologies and training teachers on how to effectively use them in teaching.
