Abstract

Homosexuality is a deviant social phenomenon that has long attracted the attention of people from various religious, intellectual, and social backgrounds. It has always been prohibited by all divine religions and man-made laws. However, in recent times particularly over the past two decades it has reached a stage of arrogance, expansion, public display, coercion, and even intimidation, similar to what Prophet Lot (peace be upon him) faced from his people before their destruction. The stages of these events show a striking resemblance and precise similarity between the past and the present. Contemporary Western societies have gone further by defending homosexuality, raising its slogans, amending many of their laws for its sake, and promoting it through organizations and official bodies-foremost among them the United Nations and its affiliated agencies. For these reasons and others, this study gains great importance and urgency. Its objective is to prove that the sin of the people of Lot was indeed homosexuality, and that the deviants of today are the same as those of the past, differing only in name. The research defines homosexuality as a term and explores how the Qur’an depicts it, tracing its origin, development, and historical and geographical emergence through Qur’anic context and interpretation. It also examines the consequences of practicing it and the dark history of the clubs that have promoted it. The study concludes that homosexuality represents a dangerous deviation from human nature an innovation first introduced by the people of Lot, unprecedented before them among all nations. It asserts that the enemies of faith and monotheism were the first to establish and promote such clubs, and that their use in spreading and normalizing homosexuality signals social collapse, moral decay, and civilizational downfall. The same causes that led to the destruction of the people of Lot, the study argues, are what will ultimately bring about the downfall of any civilization that deviates from God’s guidance and pure human nature.
