The Relationship Between the Use of Information Technology and the Job Performance of Employees at Aden University

The study aimed to reveal the relationship between the use of information technology and the job performance of employees at Aden University, Aden Governorate. To verify the study's objective, the researcher employed a descriptive analytical approach on a sample of employees from the Aden University administration during the first semester of the academic year 2023-2004, comprising 76 employees. A questionnaire was designed to collect information from the sample, and after conducting the study and analyzing the results statistically using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), the study reached the following conclusions:
1) There is a high estimation with a percentage weight of (86.67) and an arithmetic mean of (2.60) for the level of information technology usage at work from the perspective of Aden University employees.
2) There is a high estimation with an arithmetic mean of (2.42) for the level of job performance by the employees at Aden University.
3) The results indicated that there is a strong positive relationship between the use of information technology by Aden University employees and their job performance, with a Pearson correlation coefficient of R (0.654).
4) The results did not show any statistically significant differences among the sample individuals regarding their responses about the employees' use of information technology and their job performance at Aden University attributed to the variable (academic qualification – years of experience).
In light of the results obtained, the study proposed a set of recommendations, including:
- The university should continuously strive to use modern software in the workplace to enhance job performance and provide communication networks to connect the colleges with the university.
- The university administration should continuously work on updating and developing the performance system to contribute to motivating the employees.
