Abstract

The study aimed to identify the requirements dimensions of the strategic leadership at the University of Aden. The population of the study where the academy leaders from different faculties of Aden University such as faculty of Education faculty of Art faculty of law faculty of engineering faculty of dentists and faculty of Pharmacy. The participants of the study were the deans, the deputy deans and the head of the departments; their actual number were 84 participants. However, the participants who actually participated in the study were only 63 participants. In order to achieve the aims of the study it was required it was required to use the descriptive analytical survey method. The questionnaire was used as main instrument to collect the data for the study. The results of the study indicated lot of findings and the most important were as follow: the degree of practicing the requirements of dimensions strategic leadership by the University of Aden scored a high degree, through the general arithmetic mean of the combined dimensions, which amounted to (3.43). After that, the entrepreneurial culture scored an arithmetic mean of (3.66).Then, the entrepreneurial thinking, scored the second place with an arithmetic mean of (3.57), and after entrepreneurial leadership, it came in third place with an arithmetic mean of (3.27), and after strategic resource management, it came in fourth place with an arithmetic mean of (3.42). Risk tolerance ranked fifth with an arithmetic mean of (3.25). In addition, the study results showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) between the average responses of the study sample groups regarding the degree to which Aden University leaders practice the requirements of strategic leadership dimensions, attributable to the variables (job title, academic title, years of experience).
