Abstract

This study aimed to identify the level of prevalence of mental health within the students of the University of Aden, and to identify whether there are statistically significant differences in mental health between males and females among the students of the University of Aden in the general sample, as well as whether there are statistically significant differences in mental health among the students of the University of Aden due to the variable of specialization (scientific and humanitarian). The researcher has chosen a sample of (316) male and female students out of four faculties at the University of Aden. The researcher also used the mental health scale prepared by (Ahmed Abdulkhalek in 2016), after verifying its reliability and stability, and the researcher used the descriptive, causal and comparative method appropriate to the nature of the research issue, and the results of the research revealed the following. The outcomes of the research resulted in the following:

-    Mental health prevalence among members of the research sample at a high level.

-    No significant differences between students' scores on the mental health scale attributable to the gender variable (males).

-    There are no significant differences between students' scores in the mental health scale due to the variable of specialization (Scientific and humanities).

Although, there are no significant differences between the students' scores in the mental health scale between the children of working and non-working mothers.
