Abstract

The research dealt with the definition of the letter meaning as a definition, especially as it is the scientific basis upon which the study of issues of the letters of meaning and their characteristics is based. It traces the grammarians’ limits to the letter meaning and its verbal and syntactic characteristics, and the resulting divisions of the letter patterns according to the moral and verbal effect, relying on the descriptive approach to help in reading the limits. Grammarians studied the letters of meanings  and monitored the paradoxes and problems that accompanied their study of the letters of meanings. The research concluded that the grammarians differed in formulating the letter, so their expressions were many and varied, and they disagreed about the letter’s connotation of meaning and the importance of defining it. They went in a group of different directions, and concluded that the most important characteristics of the letter are the structural properties, and that some of the letter’s characteristics that grammarians stipulated are not specific to letters. Meanings alone, but shared by nouns and verbs.
