Funding Sources at Hadhramaut University: A Field Study in Light of Financial Sustainability Requirements

The study aimed to identify the reality of developing funding sources at the University of Hadhramout in light of financial sustainability. The researcher used the descriptive-analytical method. The study population consisted of (94) individuals from the academic leadership at the University of Hadhramout, selected through a comprehensive survey. A questionnaire was used to collect data. After statistical processing of the data, the researcher reached the following results: The reality of funding sources at the University of Hadhramout in light of financial sustainability, from the perspective of academic leaders, was low. There were no statistically significant differences at the significance level (α ≥ 0.05) in the study population's estimates regarding the reality of university funding sources in light of financial sustainability across all domains of financial sustainability and for the instrument as a whole, attributable to the variables of job title and years of experience. Statistically significant differences were found at the significance level (α ≥ 0.05) in the study population's estimates regarding the reality of funding sources in the domain of (Financing and Financial & Strategic Planning), attributable to the variable of academic rank, in favor of the professor rank. The researcher recommended developing a strategic financial plan focused on diversification and sustainability, establishing a specialized unit for financial sustainability that reports directly to the university presidency, and hiring experts in educational financial planning to analyze resources ndidentify future needs.
