Abstract

This study explores the theme of elegy for prominent figures in the poetry of Abdul Aziz al-Maqaleh through the analysis of two distinct scenes or thematic directions, with an emphasis on artistic and stylistic interpretation. In the first scene (the elegy of martyrs), Al-Maqaleh portrays the noblest sacrifices, heroic stances, and acts of valor and in the second scene (the elegy of friends and relatives) captures heartfelt memories, the pain of separation, and the sorrowful impact of losing close companions and loved ones.
